Thank you

Overwhelming excited to announce that the campaign to publish an illustrated Under Milk Wood is now fully funded!
But that doesn't mean the campaign is over, we still have 3 days to go! So lots of time to pledge for a book.

Hello Friends,

The outpouring of love and support I have received about the Under Milk Wood arts project has been truly amazing. I can't thank you enough for supporting the Kickstarter Campaign. Together we have smashed the £8019 target and currently we are over £9000 - this means I can start thinking about ways to make the book even better!

I'm fully aware that it takes a team to achieve a goal like this and I want to thank each and everyone of you for continually spreading the word, constantly reposting and cheering me on.

For those of you that don’t already know my collection of over 30 original drawings will be touring across Wales, dates are:

Llantarnam Grange 18th May to 10th Aug

Mid Wales Arts Centre 14th Aug to 21st Oct

MOMA Machynlleth 1st Feb to 5th April 2025

The exhibition will be visiting several libraries including Swansea Library in October, The Birthplace and possibly Laugharne Festival in March 2025. Of course I will share more dates as they are confirmed.

Here is the information for the first exhibition:-

Lets talk about Hay

As you know I have been exhibiting some of my Under Milk Wood drawings (as prints) at the Hay Festival between 23rd - 28th May.

At the moment its still too early to assess whether the event at Hay was a success or not - to be honest I am completely on my knees with exhaustion. Today I have actually been shaking with exhaustion. If you are thinking of working with the Hay Festival, trust me, it is not for the faint hearted.

Including travel time I’ve been working at Hay for between 12 to 14 hours each day while my art was on display and I am feeling dazed, stunned and totally consumed by the experience. I’ve spoken to what feels like thousands of people, which is a big deal for me as I rarely get out of the studio. I could not have done this without the wonderful and energetic support of my daughter Cordelia who never stopped answering questions, sharing info and making connections with some fabulous people.

Remember the Hay Festival is actually free to get into, you only pay for seats at individual talks & workshops. So you can come and soak up the atmosphere, browse the stores and meet friends whenever you like.

Of all the amazing characters I met at Hay, probably the most unusual was Cookie the Tortoise. Cookie visits the Festival most years with his pet human, usually sporting a new outfit with built in heat pads for all those rainy days. For those of you that can't quite see, Cookie’s outfit includes a crown (of course).

Thats all for now.
