“Come closer now. Only you can hear the houses sleeping in the streetin the slow deep salt and silent black,

Hello Friends,

May, the very height of spring, is slowly coming closer and it feels completely appropriate that I should be presenting you with art inspired by Thomas’s “one spring day” at this time of year.

Of course it doesn’t stop me from feeling nervous about sharing, after all this is the largest collection of my drawings to be seen in public. I will be forever thankful to Llantarnam Grange for believing in me and helping me craft this exhibition.

A reminder for new friends just joining us, the first Under Milk Wood exhibition starts at Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre on the 18th of May to the 11th of August before a very quick move to The Mid Wales Arts Centre on the 14th of August to the end of October and then MOMA Machynlleth in early 2025.

I will be at Llantarnam Grange all day on the 18th of May to meet people and discuss the project - pop in if you are in the area.

The wonderful news is that so many other venues have now come on board and the exhibition will be visiting several libraries, The Birthplace in Swansea and possibly Laugharne Festival in March 2025. Of course I will share more dates as they are confirmed.

With such a ground swell of support I’ve been persuaded to investigate the possibility of publishing a book. The book will be crowdfunded using Kickstarter as that is the best platform for all creative art projects. I want to reach out and thank everyone who have already pledged support including Prof. John Goodby who has written a review of the exhibition and Joanne Harris who is writing an intro.

Let me ask you a question, apart from the actual book, what rewards would you like to see included in the Kickstarter campaign?

I’m currently planning some cards, the first samples look like this:

For now I can tell you that the Kickstater campaign will include an “early bird” discount and the opportunity to reserve a truly unique book with a hand drawn picture on the front inside cover. Both of these rewards are limited. The campaign will be launched on X so if you are not already following me there it might be worth joining up.

This drawing along with a few others will be available on the Kickstarter campaign! To help fund the cost of all the picture frames, prints of most of the art will be available soon on my website so keep following for release dates.
