Embracing the Spirit of the Horse

The Chinese New Year is a vibrant and deeply symbolic celebration. It marks the beginning of a new year on the traditional Chinese calendar. Each year is associated with one of twelve animals from the zodiac. The 2026 Year of the Horse is revered for its dynamic energy.

Those born under the Horse sign embody strength, independence, passion, and determination. The Horse symbolizes freedom and forward momentum. This powerful force inspires action and bold ambition. It is a time to renew intentions and welcome fresh opportunities with optimism and courage—much like the noble spirit of the Horse itself.

My Journey with Horses

For over ten years, I lived in a tiny Wiltshire village where horse culture was the focus of attention. Horses were as much a part of daily life as the changing weather. The narrow lanes, edged with hedgerows, often required me to stop my car while a rider passed. Initially, I felt like an outsider in this alien culture. However, I quickly realised that horses, while beautiful, also possess distinct personalities and independent characteristics. It's no surprise that they are among the animals chosen to govern the Chinese zodiac.

A Tribute to the Year of the Horse

To celebrate the Year of the Horse, I am releasing a special collection of art prints inspired by the strength and grace of this extraordinary animal. Each piece captures a different facet of the horse’s spirit—from quiet dignity and noble presence to dynamic movement and untamed energy. This collection reflects the vitality associated with the Horse.

The collection includes eight prints in total. Five are open edition images, printed on high-quality paper. These prints beautifully reproduce the richness, depth, and detail of the original oil paintings. They are designed to be widely accessible while maintaining a refined finish.

Alongside them are three limited edition prints. These are produced in a very limited edition of just 195 numbered and signed pieces. This offers collectors a more exclusive opportunity to own a rare and meaningful work. These particular prints focus on especially powerful and symbolic compositions.

Together, the series forms a cohesive tribute to the Year of the Horse—a celebration of beauty, strength, and spirit expressed through art.
