MUSE – Would you like to help me create a book?

Hello everyone,
I’d like to invite you to take part in a new collaborative project called MUSE.
Would you like to help me create a book?
As most of you know, I’m one of those people who always needs to be doing something. That something is usually painting or drawing. As soon as I finish a painting, I start a drawing, and even on my supposed days off you’ll usually find me making something with my hands.
It’s the way I was raised. My parents taught me to make and mend, imagine and build, dream and reach for those dreams.
For a long time now I’ve wanted to publish a book of my original drawings, but surprisingly I never quite had the confidence to do it. Lots of artists self-publish art books these days, but I never felt my drawings could be presented in a cohesive way. That little voice in the back of my mind kept saying that perhaps no one would be interested.
Life and time have a way of changing your mind though, and now I’m ready to give it a try.
MUSE won’t be a project that arrives fully formed from behind my desk. I’d like it to become something collaborative — a conversation between image and story. Most of the book will be filled with my drawings, mainly as double-page spreads, but some pages will be left for text. Over the coming weeks I’ll be sharing a small selection of drawings and inviting you to choose one that speaks to you and write a short piece inspired by it.
It could be a story, a fragment, a memory, a character sketch, flash fiction, or a poem — whatever the image suggests to you.
The goal is to create a collection where artwork and writing live together: drawings that spark stories, and stories that deepen the drawings.
This is a genuine creative collaboration. Selected contributions may be included in the final book and contributors will be credited.
As the collection grows, the intention is to crowdfund publication so we can bring MUSE into print together.
There won’t be payment for contributions — this is a voluntary creative project — but I hope it will be something equally rewarding: the chance to create something meaningful, unexpected and shared.
If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, I’d love for you to take part.
Some of the first drawings are below. I can’t wait to see where they lead us.

As I’m no longer using X, I’d be very grateful if you could share MUSE and help me reach others who may want to be involved. |

Please note, these are not final page lay-outs, just suggestions to get us started.
