Hello my lovely friends! 🌸

Christmas is nearly here, the lights are twinkling, and I'm dreaming of sausage rolls and cranberry sauce. It's the most wonderful time of the year to share with friends and family!

This year has been a whirlwind. Moving house, settling into a new town, and opening my own gallery – a truly unexpected adventure! As the year winds down, I can honestly say it's been full of delightful surprises and heartwarming moments. And you know what's funny about new beginnings? They often bring back forgotten memories. Sorting through the studio, I've rediscovered old photos, each with a story to tell.

Normally I would not share with you photos of older work, preferring to life in the now, but I found some images from my first attempt to illustrate Under Milk Wood and thought you might like to see them....

My Dad as Captain Cat
My Dad as Captain Cat

The above is my dad posing as Captain Cat (sorry all I have is this rather poor quality photo) but you can see some of the elements I was later to use in my finished drawing.

And guess who these are.... again you can clearly see the symbols and themes I was to return to in my current collection of drawings.

These images are not available for exhibition, I only show them to you now as a glimpse into the artistic mind, they are a time capsule into my working process and development.

There are very few illustrated Under Milk Wood books left so if you did want one for Christmas please order it as soon as possible.

My next event is the:

Pontypridd Christmas Book Fair at Storyville Books, Pontypridd -

Dec 13th 10am - 3pm.

Not only will I be selling my own illustrated books, but for the first time I will be showings books by both Chris Dunn & M.P. Robertson - most of them first editions and signed by the artists.

And don't forget you can now find me at:

The Studio Gallery, 5 Church Street, Bradford-on-Avon, BA15 1LN

For the duration of Chris's exhibition I will be open

Monday - Saturday 10am - 5pm

Sunday 11am - 4pm

Please don't try and phone the gallery, we have almo no teleph reception in the building. Thank you.

Please feel free to share any of this information and thank you for any feedback you might have. Until next time, good luck to you all. BX
